My name (Lisa) in elvish! (not 100% accurate mind!)
Eruaistaniel (I think it’s pronounced air-oo-eye-stan-ee-elle)
Eru…..what?
No….so sorry!
Lisa is a short form of Elizabeth and that’s not what is written there. (at least etymologically speaking)
Haha I know Lisa comes from Elizabeth! :) It’s Greek form is Eleisabet.
Eruvanda (from the link you gave me) and Eruvandë are my names in the Quenya. whereas Eruwaedhiel/Eruaistaniel is it in Sindarin (there’s different forms of Elvish and Sindarin is actual a word in Quenya); it’s literally taken, and constructed, from the name meaning i.e. oath of God, God’s oath, consecrated or promise to God.
Since there’s no standard definition of a name the possibility of one Elvish translation is virtually nonexistent and since there’s many forms of Elvish in the first place. I’m actually learning Elvish and did my studying before I posted this, as I do with everything I write. Thanks for the link nonetheless :)
